Analysts Split As Seyi, Wike Exchange Political Blows

A major development has emerged in the ongoing internal crisis within Nigeria’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as political heavyweight Seyi declared that “No vagabond can hijack PDP again,” in a statement directed at Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike. The statement reflects growing tension within the party and underscores efforts to reclaim control and restore order amid disputes over leadership and party direction.

The issue was extensively discussed today on Emirate Radio’s Standpoint Programme, hosted by Mrs. Bukola Omoshewo. The show featured two guests: Dr. Abdulahi Alabi, a lecturer at the Department of Politics and Governance, Kwara State University, and Comrade Abdulqadir Sadiq, a lecturer at the Department of Banking and Finance, Kwara State Polytechnic, who is also a political analyst.

Dr. Alabi argued that contemporary politicians often prioritize personal gain over public interest. He stated that “politicians of today are more focused on personal concerns rather than the general good of the people,” explaining that this trend has fueled divisions and weakened party structures.

Comrade Sadiq, on the other hand, described Wike as both an institution and a grassroots politician, emphasizing his deep understanding of political dynamics. He noted that Wike “knows the game” and has consistently leveraged his experience to maintain influence and navigate internal party conflicts.
