The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has disowned a purported press release circulating on social media announcing a planned recruitment exercise, describing the information as fake and unauthorised.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Christianah Adeyeye, warned members of the public against falling victim to fraudulent schemes linked to the false announcement.
Adeyeye clarified that although the agency periodically conducts recruitment exercises to engage qualified Nigerians, the press release currently in circulation did not originate from NAFDAC and contains false information.
She urged the public to ignore the message and rely only on verified and official platforms for updates from the agency.
“Fake press releases are being circulated to mislead the public, often with the intent of extorting money from unsuspecting applicants,” Adeyeye said.
The Director-General advised Nigerians to always confirm recruitment information through NAFDAC’s official website and recognised media channels, stressing that the agency does not charge fees for employment opportunities.
