Nigerian Afrobeats star named Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun also known as Wizkid has publicly criticized veteran singer 2Baba after the latter named Burna Boy as Nigeria’s leading global artist.

2Baba made the remark during a recent interview with Seun Okinbaloye, where he weighed in on the long-running debate surrounding the so-called “Big 3” — Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy — widely regarded as Nigeria’s most prominent international music exports.

Asked who ranks highest globally among the trio, 2Baba said Burna Boy currently holds the top position on the world stage.

Wizkid responded in a post on Snapchat, taking aim at the veteran singer. “At least make peace with your family first before having opinions about music. Old man,” he wrote, adding, “I’m never letting it slack in 2026.”

The comments mark the latest episode in ongoing rivalries and debates within Nigeria’s music industry, particularly among fans of the three artists.

Wizkid had previously declared himself the country’s number one Afrobeats star, further fueling comparisons between him, Davido and Burna Boy.

Neither 2Baba nor Burna Boy had publicly responded to Wizkid’s remarks as of the time of filing this report.
