Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has paid a condolence visit to Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, following recent terrorist attacks in communities under the Borgu Emirate.
The attacks, which occurred in parts of Niger State, reportedly left several people dead, displaced residents and destroyed property and means of livelihood.

During the visit, AbdulRazaq described the incidents as “unfortunate and heartbreaking,” noting that the violence had claimed lives and rendered many families homeless. He conveyed the sympathy of the Kwara State Government and the Nigeria Governors’ Forum to the government and people of Niger State.
The NGF chairman also assured that governors would continue to work with relevant authorities to address security challenges confronting affected states and the country at large.

Responding, Bago thanked his Kwara counterpart for the visit, describing it as a gesture of solidarity. He noted that both states share a border around the Borgu Emirate and face similar security threats, making collaboration essential.
The visit comes amid renewed concerns over insecurity in parts of north-central Nigeria, where armed groups have carried out attacks on rural communities in recent months.
