The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has condemned the technical malfunction recorded at the Federal Staff Clinic Polling Unit in Gwarinpa, describing it as an incident that disenfranchised voters.
Reports indicated that the accreditation machine at the polling unit developed a fault, preventing eligible voters from being properly accredited to cast their ballots.
In a statement shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, the party stressed that elections must remain free, fair, transparent, and accessible to all citizens.
ADC called on electoral authorities to urgently repair or replace the malfunctioning equipment to allow voters to exercise their constitutional rights without further delay.
The party expressed concern that technical failures during voting processes could undermine public confidence in the electoral system.
It reaffirmed its commitment to protecting every vote and safeguarding democratic participation.
Officials have not yet announced when the faulty accreditation machine will be restored or replaced.
Election observers at the polling unit noted delays caused by the technical issue but said efforts were underway to resolve the problem.
Authorities are expected to provide updates on the situation as voting continues.
