
Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has become the most-streamed artist of all time on Spotify Nigeria.
The streaming platform released the ranking as part of activities marking its fifth anniversary in the country, unveiling the top five most-streamed artists and songs since its launch in Nigeria.
Asake leads the all-time artists’ chart, followed by Wizkid in second place and Seyi Vibez in third. Burna Boy ranks fourth, while Davido completes the top five.
In the songs category, Asake’s “Remember” holds the top spot as the most-streamed track on Spotify Nigeria. Ayo Maff and Fireboy DML’s “Dealer” ranks second, followed by Fido’s “Awolowo” in third and Wizkid’s “Kese” in fourth. Asake’s “Lonely At The Top” rounds out the top five.
Nigerian artists also dominate Spotify’s all-time chart in Kenya. Ruger’s “Asiwaju” leads the list, while Ayra Starr’s “Rush” and Fireboy’s “Bandana” take second and third positions, respectively. Kenyan singer Bein’s “Inauma” ranks fourth, with Asake’s “Lonely At The Top” placing fifth.
In Ghana, “Wotowoto Seasoning” by Odumodublvck featuring Black Sherif tops the all-time streaming chart. Asake’s “Lonely At The Top” comes in second, while additional tracks by Black Sherif occupy the third, fourth and fifth spots.
The rankings underscore the growing influence of Nigerian and West African music across the region, five years after Spotify expanded its operations to Nigeria.
