Three Arrested Over Alleged Graveyard Ritual in Gombe

Three men have been arrested in Nafada Local Government Area of Gombe State over alleged ritual activities involving human remains.

The arrests were disclosed on Thursday by security analyst Zagazola Makama in a post on X. According to him, the incident occurred on February 24, 2026, at Barwo Sabon Gari village.

Makama said a resident, Zakari Ibrahim, 45, reported seeing Umar Ibrahim, 30, allegedly digging a grave at the Barwo Sabon Gari graveyard.

During interrogation, Umar reportedly confessed that he was instructed by his father, Ibrahim Usman, 60, to exhume body parts from a deceased person for ritual purposes.

He further admitted that in 2025, he had exhumed a human toe from the same graveyard and handed it to another suspect, Alhaji Bappa Abdu, 35.

Police authorities subsequently arrested the three suspects. They are said to have confessed to the alleged offences, while investigations continue.
