Osun United head coach Akinade Onigbinde has praised his players for their resilience after a 1-0 victory over Abakaliki FC on Saturday.

The Omoluabi Giants earned the hard-fought win at the Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium, with Sodiq Obisesan scoring in the closing seconds to seal all three points.

The result marked Osun United’s first away win of the season and lifted the team to eighth place on the table with 14 points from 12 matches.

Speaking after the game, Onigbinde commended his squad for their determination against what he described as strong opposition.

“Kudos to my boys for silencing the high-flying opponents,” he said in remarks published by the club’s media. “We’ll keep working on the winning tactics and continue to fight for points till the end of the season.”

The victory provides a timely boost for Osun United as they look to build momentum in the latter stages of the campaign.
