Akwa United head coach Paul Offor says his team is focused on sustaining its lead in Nigeria National League (NNL) Conference B as the promotion race intensifies.
The Promise Keepers currently top the table with 25 points from 12 matches, four points ahead of second-placed Sporting Lagos.
Speaking ahead of their next fixture, Offor urged his players to treat every remaining game as a final in their push for promotion.
“From this point forward, every game we play is a final for us,” he said. “We will approach each match with a winning mentality. If we want promotion, we must ensure we stay at the top after every matchday.”
Akwa United travel to Osogbo on Sunday to face Osun United in a Matchday 13 fixture, a crucial test in their bid to maintain their position.
The club remains in strong contention for automatic promotion but faces stiff competition as the season progresses.
