Amuneke Eyes Strong Finish as Heartland Push for NPFL Promotion

Heartland FC technical adviser, Emmanuel Amuneke, has expressed confidence in finishing the 2025/26 season on a high note as his team vies for promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League.

The Naze Millionaires strengthened their promotion bid with a convincing 3-0 victory over Gateway FC at the Dan Anyiam Stadium on Saturday.

The win lifted Heartland to third place in the NNL Conference A table, with 23 points from 13 matches, just two points behind leaders Inter Lagos FC.

With a game still outstanding against Smart City FC, Amuneke said the squad remains focused on their promotion target.

“Like I’ve always said, we’re not here to make noise. We just want to play our games and approach each one as it comes,” he said after the Gateway FC match.

The coach emphasized the challenges ahead, noting that every game presents unique difficulties that the team must be ready to face.

“Every game comes with different challenges. We know all three games will be very difficult, but what matters is our readiness to play them and achieve our objectives,” he added.

Heartland FC, a club with a storied history in Nigerian football, is aiming to return to the NPFL after recent seasons in the second tier.

The team’s strong form this season has made them one of the main contenders for promotion, with fans optimistic about a top-flight return.

Amuneke’s focus on preparation and consistency remains central as Heartland eyes the remaining matches to secure promotion.
