The General Overseer of Christ Embassy, Chris Oyakhilome, has expressed support for Israel’s position in the ongoing conflict involving Israel, the United States and Iran, saying the country has a right to defend its existence.
Speaking during a message to his congregation in a video that circulated widely on social media, Oyakhilome said Israel could not ignore what he described as repeated threats from Iran regarding its survival as a nation.
“If you had Iran declaring ‘you have no right to exist’ and you’re a small country like Israel, then there is the war over Iran,” he said, urging listeners to consider what he called the underlying causes of the conflict.
The cleric dismissed claims that Israel drew the United States into the crisis, arguing instead that Israel has historically faced persistent threats to its existence and must respond to protect itself.
He also referenced concerns about Iran’s nuclear ambitions, suggesting that such capabilities posed a potential threat to Israel’s security if left unchecked.
Oyakhilome further addressed the broader regional situation, including the question of Palestinian statehood, expressing the view that security concerns remain central to Israel’s position in the conflict.
The pastor also framed his remarks within a religious context, citing biblical references he said support Israel’s continued existence despite historical challenges.
His comments come amid ongoing international debate and diplomatic efforts surrounding the escalating tensions involving Israel, the United States and Iran.
