Bashir Ahmad Claims Missionary Asked to Leave Nigeria

Former presidential media aide Bashir Ahmad has claimed that an American missionary, Alex Barbir, has been asked by authorities to leave Nigeria over alleged activities capable of heightening religious tensions.

Ahmad made the claim in a post on X on Wednesday evening, citing what he described as information from a reliable source.

According to him, Barbir had been visiting communities across Nigeria’s North Central Nigeria and allegedly engaging in actions that could inflame religious divisions.

“A reliable source has informed me that the hate monger, Mr. Alex Barbir, has been ordered by the authorities to leave this country,” Ahmad wrote.

“Since arriving in Nigeria, he has been attempting to ignite religious tensions, particularly in communities he visited across the North Central region,” he added.

Ahmad stressed the importance of preserving national unity, stating that individuals found promoting division should be held accountable.

There has been no official confirmation from government authorities regarding the claim as of the time of filing this report.
