Nigerian Troops Foil Attacks, Neutralize Terrorists Nationwide

Nigerian troops have intensified operations across multiple regions, neutralizing terrorists, foiling kidnappings, and recovering weapons, livestock, and other items within the past 24 hours, the military said.

In the North-East, the Joint Task Force (JTF) and Operation HADIN KAI recorded key successes in Borno State. Troops of 202 Battalion reportedly neutralized two suspected terrorists during an ambush on the Aulari–Kawuri axis in Bama Local Government Area. Surveillance cameras had detected the suspects advancing toward Yale Forest before they were engaged by the troops.

In the North-West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA forces reported operational gains in Zamfara State and Katsina State. Troops of 1 Brigade Quick Response Force neutralized one terrorist during a patrol in Maru Local Government Area, recovering seven mobile phones.

Meanwhile, troops of 17 Brigade responded to terrorist activity in Kankara Local Government Area, seizing two pump-action guns and cartridges.

In a related operation in Malumfashi, troops, alongside police and local hunters, repelled terrorists, forcing them to flee and recovering 19 rustled livestock, which were handed over to local authorities.

In the North-Central region, Operation SAVANNAH SHIELD forces in Patigi Local Government Area foiled a kidnapping attempt. A victim was rescued, two suspected kidnappers were arrested, and two single-barrel guns were recovered.

The military described the coordinated operations as part of ongoing efforts to secure communities, deter criminal activities, and restore public confidence across affected areas.

Officials emphasized collaboration with local authorities and security agencies as a key factor in the successes.

These operations highlight the Nigerian military’s continued focus on neutralizing terrorist threats and protecting civilians in high-risk regions.

The military has pledged to sustain patrols and community engagement to prevent further attacks and criminal activities.
