Oborevwori Unveils Cubana Millennium City Project

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Sunday attended the 51st birthday celebration of businessman Obi Cubana, during which the Signature Home within the Cubana Millennium City project was officially unveiled in Asaba.

The event, held at the project site in Delta State, attracted government officials, business leaders and investors, underscoring growing interest in the multi-use development project.

Speaking at the ceremony, Oborevwori commended Obi Cubana for his investment in the state, describing the Cubana Millennium City as a landmark initiative with the potential to reshape Asaba’s urban landscape.

He said the project goes beyond housing, adding that it would help create a wider economic ecosystem that could stimulate growth across surrounding communities. The governor also reaffirmed his administration’s support for private sector-led developments aligned with job creation and infrastructure expansion.

The unveiling of the Signature Home marked a major milestone for the project, showcasing its design standards and intended lifestyle concept as a model for future development within the estate.

In his remarks, Obi Cubana said the project was designed to create a modern residential and commercial hub capable of competing with major urban centres across Africa.

“We are building more than houses—we are building a city that will stand the test of time,” he said, adding that the development would provide opportunities for living, working and investment within a planned environment.

He noted that the project’s location near the Asaba Airport and major transport routes makes it a strategic investment destination with strong growth potential.

The Cubana Millennium City is planned as a mixed-use development combining residential units, commercial spaces and lifestyle facilities, envisioned as a “city within a city.” The event concluded with a guided tour of the Signature Home for invited guests.
