Kebbi Govt Dissolves University Council, Removes Vice-Chancellor

The Kebbi State Government has dissolved the governing council of Abdullahi Fodio University of Science and Technology and removed its Vice-Chancellor alongside other principal officers following the report of a visitation panel.

The decision, announced in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Yakubu Bala-Tafida, was approved by the State Executive Council on Thursday.

According to the statement, the Vice-Chancellor, two Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Registrar, and Bursar were relieved of their appointments. It also confirmed the termination of the appointment of Abba Muhammad Adua.

To oversee the institution pending fresh appointments, the government named Samaila Arzika Mungadi as Sole Administrator.

Bala-Tafida said the administrator has been tasked with stabilising governance and restoring academic integrity at the university until a new governing council is constituted.

He added that the reconstituted council would be responsible for appointing new principal officers for the institution.

The government stated that the decision takes immediate effect from April 30, 2026, and commended members of the visitation panel for their work.
