Former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has obtained the nomination forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to contest the Kogi Central senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.

Bello received the forms on Saturday and has emerged as the party’s consensus candidate for the race.

He is expected to face the incumbent senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), setting the stage for a high-profile contest in the district.

Bello served two terms as governor of Kogi State before handing over to his successor, Usman Ododo.

The Kogi Central senatorial election is expected to draw significant attention given the political stature of both candidates and the rivalry between the APC and PDP in the state.
