A 30-year-old aspirant, Mahmud Sadis Buba, popularly known as Abin Al-Ajabin Zazzau, has completed his screening for the All Progressives Congress House of Representatives ticket for Sabon Gari Federal Constituency in Kaduna State.
A video of the screening circulated online on Sunday, attracting attention because of Buba’s youthful appearance, which many social media users said made him look significantly younger than his stated age.
Dressed in traditional attire, Buba calmly responded to questions from party officials about his age, educational background and reasons for seeking office.
He confirmed that he is 30 years old and the firstborn in a family of nine children.
Asked why he wanted to contest for the seat, Buba said he was responding to calls from members of his constituency.
“Help to pass the screening, having passed the requirements, because people called me to serve them, and I will serve. I am not doing this for myself,” he said.
Buba also stated that he was contesting alongside the incumbent House of Representatives member for the APC ticket.
When asked why he wanted to replace the current lawmaker, he replied: “It is not from me. It is from the people.”
The aspirant currently serves as chairman of the ‘Tinubu–Uba Sani Agenda ’27’ support group and recently purchased the party’s expression of interest and nomination forms.
His appearance and participation in the screening have sparked debate online, with reactions ranging from amusement and scepticism to praise for his composure and confidence.
Supporters have described Buba as a grassroots mobiliser and an example of growing youth participation in Nigerian politics, while others questioned the tone of some questions asked during the screening process.
