
Peoples Democratic Party has commenced the screening of its presidential and governorship aspirants ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The exercise is being conducted by the party’s National Working Committee led by Abdulrahman Mohammed at the party’s National Secretariat Annex, Legacy House, Maitama, Abuja.
In a statement issued by the National Director of Publicity, Chinwe Nnorom, the party said screening for governorship aspirants would begin at noon on Thursday, while presidential aspirants would be screened from 2 p.m. at the same venue.
The presidential screening committee is chaired by former Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, with Hassan Sokodobo serving as secretary.
Other members of the committee include Abba Isawa, George Sekibo, Sodipo Semiu, Chinelo Chidebelu, Nasiru Mohammed, Zainab Kure and Lindsey Sora.
For the governorship aspirants, the screening committee is chaired by former Kaduna State Governor, Ahmed Makarfi, while George Ariolu serves as secretary.
Other members of the governorship committee include Ibrahim Umar, Aisha Madawaki, Tajudeen Yusuf, Abdulganiyu Oloyin, Babangida Modibbo, Buba Biri, Olaniyi Ogungbuji, Mike Ahumibe, Gabriel Igboko, Tony Effiong and Precious Ojelabi.
