Oyo Youths Protest School Abductions, Insecurity

Protests erupted in Oyo State on Wednesday as youths and residents took to the streets to demand the safe return of students and teachers abducted in recent attacks across the state.

In videos seen by DAILY POST, demonstrators in Ogbomoso were heard chanting “Bring back our children” and “Free our children and teachers,” as they expressed anger over worsening insecurity and economic hardship.

The protesters accused authorities of failing to protect lives and property, saying the situation has left communities increasingly vulnerable.

Some of the demonstrators were also seen removing billboards and banners bearing the image of President Bola Tinubu during the protest.

The demonstrations followed the abduction of several pupils and a teacher during coordinated attacks on three schools in Oriire Local Government Area of the state.

Reports also indicated that the abducted teacher was later killed by the attackers, further heightening public outrage and calls for urgent government intervention.
