Amotekun Rescues Eight Kidnap Victims in Ondo

Eight kidnapped persons have been rescued by operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, popularly known as Amotekun, following an operation against their abductors in Ondo State.

The State Commander of Amotekun, Akogun Adeleye, disclosed this in a statement, noting that all the victims were freed without the payment of any ransom.

According to Adeleye, some of the victims were abducted from the Ilado community in Akure North Local Government Area of the state.

He identified one of the rescued victims as Fagbonmire Durojaiye, a pastor and teacher with the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

The commander said the kidnappers had demanded N30 million as ransom for the victims before security operatives intervened.

He further revealed that the rescue operation involved a gun battle between the kidnappers and Amotekun personnel.

Despite the confrontation, the victims were successfully rescued and reunited with their families, while efforts continue to track down those responsible for the abduction.

The operation is the latest in a series of efforts by security agencies to combat kidnapping and other criminal activities in the state.
