Peller Fires Back at Rapper Ycee Over Criticism

Nigerian TikTok personality Habeeb Hamzat Adelaja also known as Peller has responded to criticism from rapper Oludemilade Martin Alejo also known as Ycee, describing the music star as a “very anyhow OG” after the rapper questioned the quality of his online content.

The exchange follows comments made by Ycee during an appearance on the Afropolitan podcast, where he criticised what he called the growing “Peller culture” on social media.

The rapper argued that content like Peller’s reflects a shift in societal values, claiming that intelligence and academic excellence are no longer celebrated in Nigeria.

Questioning the educational value of such content, Ycee said the popularity of internet personalities like Peller was a worrying trend.

Reacting in a video shared on social media, Peller accused the rapper of unnecessarily mentioning his name and said older public figures should be more responsible in expressing their opinions.

“The same olodo uprising wey una dey use promote una noise, very anyhow OG. If you’re an elderly person, respect yourself. Must you mention names?” Peller said.

He added, “You yourself are an illiterate because, as an elderly man with sense, you should be able to make your point without mentioning anyone’s name.”

The exchange has sparked reactions on social media, with users divided over Ycee’s criticism of online content creation and Peller’s response.
