The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reduced the pump price of petrol by N50 per litre at its retail outlets in Abuja, marking its second price adjustment in four days.
A market survey on Saturday showed that NNPCL filling stations at Airport Junction and Wuse Zone 6 (Berger) are now dispensing petrol at N1,210 per litre, down from N1,260 per litre.
The latest reduction follows a N75 per litre price cut introduced by the state-owned oil company four days earlier, when pump prices were lowered to N1,260 per litre.
The development comes just two days after Dangote Refinery reduced its ex-depot petrol price by N50, bringing it down to N1,125 per litre.
With the latest adjustment, petrol prices across Abuja and surrounding areas now range between N1,210 and N1,305 per litre, depending on the retail outlet.
The decline in domestic fuel prices coincides with a drop in global crude oil prices following easing tensions in the Middle East. West Texas Intermediate crude is trading at about $69 per barrel, while Brent crude stands at around $71 per barrel.
Despite growing calls from Nigerians for lower fuel prices in line with falling international crude prices, President Bola Tinubu has yet to comment on the issue.
