Nigerian singer and rapper Darlington Okoye also know as Speed Darlington has opened up about his personal life, expressing disappointment over being unmarried and without children as he approaches his 60s.
In a recent video shared online, the entertainer, popularly known as the “Akpi” crooner, said he wants more out of life than the achievements he currently has.
“I am close to 60 with no wife or child. Is this how I am going to live my life? All I have to show is American papers. I want more than American papers out of life,” he said.
The singer added that his greatest desire is to have “family, freedom and respect,” stressing that he had expected to be married with children at this stage of his life.
Speed Darlington had previously made headlines after publicly announcing that he was searching for a wife and outlining the qualities he wanted in a partner. At the time, he said his ideal spouse should be dark-skinned, between 18 and 23 years old, at least 5 feet 8 inches tall, weigh less than 150 pounds, and be fluent in both English and Igbo.
Several years after making the public appeal, the singer is yet to announce a marriage.
