Salisu Yusuf is set to return to Kano Pillars as the club’s technical adviser ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The experienced coach previously managed the four-time NPFL champions during the 2021/22 campaign and is expected to lead the club’s rebuilding efforts after a difficult season.
Yusuf recently parted ways with Benin Republic side Coton Sport by mutual consent following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.
During his time at Coton Sport, he guided the club to a second-place finish in the Championnat National du Bénin, securing qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup.
The 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) silver medal-winning coach is expected to bring his experience to Kano Pillars as the club aims to improve its fortunes in the new campaign.
Kano Pillars narrowly avoided relegation from the NPFL last season and will be hoping Yusuf’s return helps restore the club’s competitiveness.
