Liverpool Sign France U21 Defender Jeremy Jacquet

Liverpool F.C. have completed the signing of Jérémy Jacquet from Stade Rennais F.C. in a deal reportedly worth up to £60 million ($79 million).

The 20-year-old France Under-21 centre-back has signed a five-year contract at Anfield, with the club holding the option to extend the deal by an additional 12 months, subject to international clearance.

Liverpool had reached an agreement for Jacquet’s transfer in January, but the move has now been officially completed.

The defender is expected to join the squad from the start of pre-season after recovering from a shoulder injury sustained in February, which ruled him out for the remainder of last season.

“I feel really good, the first impressions are good and I am very happy to start here,” Jacquet told Liverpool’s official website. “It’s a big dream for me.”

Jacquet made 33 senior appearances for Rennes after progressing through the club’s youth academy. He also gained first-team experience during a loan spell with Clermont Foot in the 2024/25 season.
