
The pupils and teachers abducted in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State have regained their freedom, according to the Presidency.
The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, announced their release in a post shared on his verified X account on Friday.
“Finally, all the kidnapped pupils and teachers in Orire, Oyo have been rescued by our security agencies,” Onanuga wrote.
The victims were abducted in Orire Local Government Area, prompting security agencies to launch efforts to secure their release.
As of the time of filing this report, authorities had not disclosed details of the rescue operation or clarified whether any ransom was paid before the victims regained their freedom.
