Serie A side Fiorentina have made an improved offer to Wolverhampton Wanderers for Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare as they step up efforts to secure his signature.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Italian club’s latest proposal is a loan deal with an option to buy worth €22 million.

Wolves had rejected Fiorentina’s initial offer for the 25-year-old forward last week, prompting the club to return with an improved package.

Arokodare is reportedly eager to complete a move to Italy after turning down an opportunity to join Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor.

Trabzonspor are also said to have submitted a bid to Wolves as they continue to compete for the Nigerian international’s signature.

Arokodare joined Wolves from Belgian Pro League club KRC Genk last summer and has attracted interest from several clubs during the current transfer window.
