NBA star Stephen Curry has tipped Lionel Messi’s Argentina to defeat Spain in the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Sunday.
The Golden State Warriors point guard said it would be difficult to bet against the reigning world champions, expressing confidence in Lionel Scaloni’s side ahead of the title decider.
Speaking ahead of the final, Curry said, “It’s hard to go against Messi. It seems like fate is in their hands. Sunday is going to be fun.”
Argentina booked their place in the final after coming from behind to defeat England 2-1 in the semi-finals, extending their impressive run in the tournament.
Spain, meanwhile, secured a 2-0 victory over France to reach the final and will be aiming to lift the World Cup trophy for the second time.
The two football powerhouses will meet on Sunday in what is expected to be one of the most anticipated matches of the tournament, with Messi looking to guide Argentina to another world title.
