The Baboko Community Secondary School Ilorin National Alumni Association, BCSSINAA, has commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for the recent infrastructural upgrade of their alma mater.
In a statement signed by the association’s President, Dr. Abdulraheem Muritala, the alumni described the renovation as a major milestone that has restored confidence in public education and rekindled pride among students, parents and old students of the school.
The government’s intervention, which was recently handed over by the Honourable Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, includes the construction and renovation of a block of six classrooms, a block of five classrooms, and a block of two classrooms.
Other facilities delivered are fully equipped science laboratories, a spacious staff office, and modern toilet facilities, all furnished with necessary equipment.
BCSSINAA said the upgrade has created a more conducive environment for teaching and learning and has already started yielding positive results among students.
“We are particularly inspired by your dedication to ensuring that public schools are equipped with modern facilities,” the association stated. “The joy expressed by students such as Master Ayantola Benjamin and Miss Karatu Aminat, who are now more motivated to excel academically, is a clear indication of the positive impact of your administration’s investment.”
The alumni also pledged to support the government’s call for collective ownership of school facilities. According to the association, it will work with the school management, teachers and the host community to ensure the new structures are properly maintained and protected for future generations.
“As proud alumni, we see this as a challenge to give back even more to our Alma Mata,” Dr. Muritala added.
The association expressed appreciation to Governor AbdulRazaq for his commitment to quality education and human capital development in Kwara State, and called for continued collaboration to further improve the school.
The upgrade of Baboko Community Secondary School is part of the state government’s ongoing rehabilitation of public schools across the 16 Local Government Areas of Kwara.
