Obi, Kwankwaso Hold Talks With Dickson Ahead of 2027

Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential and vice-presidential candidates of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), have met with the party’s National Leader, Senator Seriake Dickson, amid the leadership crisis within the OK Movement.

The meeting comes as concerns grow among party members and supporters over internal disagreements in the coalition, which comprises the Kwankwassiyya Movement and the Obidient Movement. The crisis has led to the emergence of rival factions, raising questions about the group’s unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Although details of the meeting were not disclosed, it took place as political stakeholders intensify consultations ahead of the official commencement of campaigns for the 2027 polls.

The development is expected to fuel speculation over efforts to resolve the leadership dispute and strengthen the coalition’s position as preparations for the next general election gather momentum.
