A large number of voters turned out at Ward 09, Unit 011, in Ikire, Osun State, where the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, is expected to vote in Saturday’s governorship election.

Voters arrived early at the polling unit and formed orderly queues to participate in the election. Some voters described the process as peaceful and expressed confidence that their votes would count.

Younger voters were seen waiting in line, while elderly voters were given priority and provided with seats as they awaited their turn.

The election will determine the next occupant of the Bola Ige House for a four-year term, with 15 political parties listed on the ballot.

Incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke is seeking re-election on the platform of the Accord Party, while Oyebamiji is the APC candidate.

Two candidates, Adesina Adeyemi-Doro of the All Progressives Grand Alliance and Simon Adewale of the Allied Peoples Movement, had announced their withdrawal from the race.

Although both APGA and APM remain on the ballot, Adeyemi-Doro endorsed Oyebamiji, while Adewale declared support for Adeleke.
