Arsenal are in advanced talks with Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal over the transfer of Brazilian winger Gabriel Martinelli in a deal worth more than €65 million.

The two clubs have reportedly reached a verbal agreement on the transfer package, which would become Arsenal’s biggest sale in the club’s history if completed.

Martinelli’s representatives are currently finalising personal terms with Al Hilal, while Arsenal are prepared to schedule the 25-year-old’s medical once an agreement is reached.

The Brazilian is said to have rejected interest from Turkish champions Galatasaray as negotiations with the Saudi club progressed.

Martinelli played a key role in Arsenal’s Premier League title-winning campaign last season and has scored 62 goals for the North London club since joining from Brazilian side Ituano.

The winger has one year remaining on his current contract, with reports suggesting his reduced starting role under manager Mikel Arteta contributed to uncertainty over his future.

If the move is completed, Martinelli will leave Arsenal after several successful seasons at the Emirates Stadium and become one of the latest high-profile players to join the Saudi Pro League.
