The Governing Board of Abdullahi Fodio University of Science and Technology, Aliero, AFUSTA has approved the appointment of Professor Muhammed Gwani, the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics, as Acting Vice Chancellor.

The University’s Public Relations Officer, Mustapha Mansur Ango, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.

According to Ango, the appointment took effect immediately after the board met and deliberated extensively on the leadership of the institution.

He explained that Prof. Gwani’s appointment was to fill the vacuum created by the voluntary resignation of the immediate past acting vice chancellor.

Ango noted that the appointment of Professor Gwani is expected to drive the University to greater heights, given his proven academic track record and commitment to excellence.

Recall that Professor Ismail Mungadi recently resigned his appointment as acting vice chancellor, citing interference, a few months after he assumed the role.
