The Senate of the University of Ilorin has approved the results of 10,141 students who fulfilled the academic requirements for the award of first degrees for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The approval was made at the university’s 312th Senate meeting held on August 31, 2026, at the Senate Chamber and presided over by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN. Senate also approved results for postgraduate and professional programmes, including PhD, master’s degrees, professional master’s programmes of the Institute of Education and programmes run by affiliated institutions.

The results were presented by the Chairman of the Business Committee of Senate and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Moji Taibat Bakare-Odunola, after which members considered and approved them as presented. The approval brings the affected students closer to participating in the university’s 41st Convocation Ceremonies scheduled for October 2026.

Egbewole urged level advisers, heads of departments and faculty authorities with outstanding results to ensure they are processed, reconciled and submitted before the next Senate meeting. He said timely processing was necessary to prevent qualified students from being excluded from the forthcoming convocation because of avoidable administrative delays.

In a related development, Senate approved a report on the proposed statute for the university’s Postgraduate College and recommended that it be forwarded to the Governing Council and subsequently to President Bola Tinubu for final approval and gazetting. The proposed statute provides for a Provost, who would serve as the academic and administrative head of the College and be a professor elected by Senate for a two-year term.
