The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has updated its final list of governorship candidates, including former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami, as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Gombe State.

However, the candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kano State, Gwarzo, remains excluded from the list due to a subsisting court order.

In a statement, INEC said the update followed a review of court judgments and submissions by political parties.

The commission explained that Pantami’s inclusion was approved after all legal requirements were met, while the Kano NDC candidate could not be listed because the matter remains under litigation.

INEC said the candidate would remain excluded until the court order preventing his inclusion is vacated.

The commission added that the updated final list would be published on its website and displayed at its state offices.
