Two Killed In Separate Road Accidents In Aba

Two persons have been killed in separate road accidents at different locations in Aba, Abia State, on Friday and Sunday.

The first incident occurred at the Osisioma Flyover junction on Friday when a truck loaded with goods reportedly lost control and crashed into a shop, killing a male adult and injuring about six other people.

An eyewitness said the truck was travelling at high speed before veering off the road and hitting traders and pedestrians in the busy area.

The injured victims were rushed to a hospital for medical attention.

Although the exact cause of the crash had not been established, initial reports suggested possible reckless driving or brake failure.

The Abia State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, CC Ngozi Ezeoma, confirmed the incident, identifying the deceased as an adult male.

In a separate accident on Sunday morning, another man was killed along Port Harcourt Road in Aba.

The unidentified victim was reportedly on his way to church when a speeding motorcycle hit him from behind, resulting in his death.
