Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has called for a peaceful and credible governorship election in Osun State, urging residents to reject violence and intimidation during the electoral process.
The singer also appealed to an unnamed politician from Imo State to refrain from interfering in the election, insisting that the people of Osun should be allowed to choose their preferred candidate without external influence.
Davido made the remarks while addressing supporters as head of the youth mobilisation team campaigning for the re-election of his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
He stressed the importance of a free and fair election, urging political actors and voters to uphold peace before, during and after the poll.
The appeal comes as political campaigns intensify ahead of the governorship election, with stakeholders calling for a transparent process and urging voters to exercise their democratic rights without fear or intimidation.
