
The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council Council, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, on the occasion of his 70th birthday.
The Emir describes the Sultan as a towering symbol of peace, unity, and religious tolerance whose leadership has continued to promote harmony among Nigerians irrespective of tribe, religion, or political affiliation.
This is contained in a congratulatory message issued on Monday by the Emir’s Spokesman, Dr Abdulazeez Arowona.
According to Emir Sulu-Gambari, “For seven decades, His Eminence has lived a life of service, scholarship, humility and nation-building across International boundaries.
“As the spiritual leader of Muslims in Nigeria, his wise counsel, commitment to national integration, and dedication to the welfare of the Ummah have earned him respect both at home and abroad.”
Speaking further, Alhaji Sulu-Gambari said: “On this milestone, I extend the heartfelt felicitations of the entire members of Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, the people of Ilorin Emirate, indigenes and Residents of Kwara State, Islamic groups and associations to His Eminence, I pray Almighty Allah to grant the Sultan more years in good health, sound wisdom, and strength to continue his fatherly role in guiding the nation towards peace and prosperity.”
“The entire people of the Ilorin Emirate rejoice with the Sultan, the Sokoto Caliphate, and the Muslim Ummah on this joyous occasion. I urge the Federal Government and the Sokoto Government respectively to continue to support, Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar in a bid to continue to foster peace and unity in diversity.”
