
A building has collapsed in Popo-Giwa during the early morning Zubhi prayer, leaving several people trapped under the rubble.
The incident occurred early hours of today, when worshippers reportedly heard a loud sound. Upon checking the area, they discovered that a building had collapsed, with people believed to be inside at the time.
According to our correspondent Mujibah Abubakar who covered the scene, stated that six people had already been rescued from the collapsed building. The rescued victims were conscious and able to speak. Rescue efforts were still ongoing as emergency responders and members of the community worked to free the remaining people trapped under the rubble.
The exact cause of the collapse and the condition of those still trapped could not be immediately confirmed. Further updates are expected as rescue operations continue.
