Tenerife Striker Jesus de Miguel Dies After Cardiac Arrest During Match

Spanish football has been thrown into mourning following the death of Tenerife striker Jesus de Miguel, who suffered a cardiac arrest during a match against FC Andorra on Monday.

The 30-year-old collapsed after colliding with goalkeeper Jesus Owono while challenging for a loose ball in midfield during the closing stages of the game.

The incident prompted the suspension of the match as medical personnel attended to the striker.

Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed De Miguel’s death in a post on X on Tuesday morning.

“Terrible news from Spain: Tenerife player Jesus de Miguel has sadly passed away,” Romano wrote.

He added that the striker could not overcome the serious consequences of the incident during the match against FC Andorra.
