The Kwara State Government has announced the completion of Phase One of the Osin-Laduba Road project in Asa Local Government Area, marking a major infrastructure milestone in the community.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Communication, Ibraheem Abdullateef, disclosed the development, noting that the project was executed to high standards to ensure durability and long-term use.
According to Abdullateef, the completed phase features full asphalt surfacing and a modern drainage system designed to withstand heavy use and seasonal weather conditions.
For decades, the Osin-Laduba Road had been regarded as one of the state’s “forgotten roads,” despite repeated promises by successive administrations to rehabilitate it. The route remained in poor condition until the current intervention.
Abdullateef said the project aligns with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s broader strategy to open up rural communities through improved road infrastructure. The initiative is expected to enhance local trade, ease transportation, support tourism, and improve residents’ quality of life.
Residents of Osin-Laduba and neighbouring communities have welcomed the development, describing the completed road as a long-overdue relief from years of travel challenges and economic setbacks linked to the road’s previous state.
The government said work would continue on subsequent phases of the project as part of its commitment to equitable infrastructure development across the state.
