
Former Senate President Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has expressed profound sorrow over the death of Mr. Emmanuel Olayiwola Olanrewaju, Kwara State correspondent for The Sun newspaper, who passed away early on Friday.
In a statement released by his Press Officer on Local Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, Saraki described Olayiwola’s death as shocking and a significant loss to journalism in Kwara State and beyond.
The Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin praised the late journalist for his dedication, diligence, and professionalism, noting that he carried out his duties with integrity and contributed greatly to the development of the media in the state.
Saraki extended condolences to Olayiwola’s immediate family, the Kwara State Correspondents’ Chapel, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kwara Chapter, and all media practitioners in the state.
He prayed that God grants the deceased eternal rest and provides strength and fortitude to his family and colleagues to cope with the loss.
