An Oyo State High Court in Ibadan has affirmed the legitimacy of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) convention held in the state capital on November 15, 2025.

Delivering judgment on Friday, Justice Ladiran Akintola of Court 5 ruled in favour of the claimant, Folahan Malomo Adelabi, validating the outcome of the party’s 2025 election exercise conducted during the convention.

The court dismissed an application for joinder filed in the course of the proceedings, as well as a separate application for stay of proceedings brought by Nwachukwu and other applicants.

Justice Akintola granted all 13 reliefs sought by Adelabi, who instituted the suit through his counsel, Musbau Adetunmbi.

The ruling effectively upholds the decisions and leadership outcomes that emerged from the convention, ending the legal challenge brought before the court.
