Israel Says Strike Killed Iran’s Supreme Leader

The Israeli military on Sunday released footage it said shows the moment a strike targeted the residence of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in central Tehran.

Israeli authorities stated that the residence was completely destroyed in the attack, which they described as part of a broader wave of airstrikes across the Iranian capital.

Earlier reports said the Israeli military had confirmed launching a large-scale operation in the heart of Tehran, marking a significant escalation in hostilities between the two regional rivals.

According to Israeli officials, the air force operation resulted in the death of Khamenei, a development that, if independently confirmed, would represent one of the most consequential events in recent Middle East history.

Iranian authorities had not immediately issued a formal response at the time of filing this report, and there was no independent verification of the claim.

Reports of a second wave of attacks in Tehran have further raised concerns about the risk of a broader regional conflict, with tensions between Israel and Iran now at one of their highest levels in years.
