Eight people have been confirmed dead after suspected terrorists detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) along Luma Road in Borgu Local Government Area.
According to reports, the explosion struck a moving vehicle on Monday, resulting in multiple fatalities at the scene.
The attackers also destroyed a key bridge linking the communities of Luma, Babanna, and Agwara, disrupting movement across the area.
The damaged bridge serves as a critical route for residents, especially traders and commuters travelling to the Babanna border market, which holds every Monday.
Security concerns have intensified following the incident, as residents depend heavily on the route for economic activities and inter-community access.
The attack comes on the same day a separate explosion was reported in Woro in Kaiama Local Government Area, where several people were also feared killed.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the latest incident as security agencies continue to assess the situation.
