Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai has lost his mother, Hajiya Umma, who died on Friday after a period of illness, her family has confirmed.

The family announced her passing the same day, stating that she had been battling age-related health complications that worsened in recent weeks.

They also noted that her condition reportedly deteriorated further after learning about her son’s detention by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC).

According to relatives, El-Rufai had been closely involved in managing his mother’s health prior to her death.

The family prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings and grant her Aljannatul Firdaus.
