Tinubu Appoints CAC Chair, Names NPC Commissioners

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Senator Ibrahim Ida as Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and nominated seven new federal commissioners for the National Population Commission (NPC), subject to confirmation by the National Assembly of Nigeria.

Ida, who represented Katsina Central in the Senate, previously served as Commissioner of Finance in Katsina State and as a Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service. He holds degrees in Banking and Finance from the University of Ibadan and Law from the University of Abuja.

The nominees for NPC federal commissioner positions are Kolawole Oladipupo Alabi (Ekiti), Nasiru Mu’azu (Zamfara), Usman Abubakar Tuggar (Bauchi), Isaka Alada Yahaya (Kwara), Sadiq Isah Radda (Katsina), Suleiman Umar (Jigawa), and Chiso Abdullahi Dattijo (Sokoto). Their appointments are intended to fill existing vacancies in the commission.

In a related development, the President appointed Yusuf Mohammed as Chairman of Federal Polytechnic Kaltungo, Gombe State.

President Tinubu also confirmed the appointment of Bala Mohammed Bello as Special Adviser on Political Economy. Bello previously served as a Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and earlier as Executive Director (Corporate Services) at the Nigerian Export-Import Bank between 2017 and 2022.

The Presidency said the appointments reflect confidence in the capacity of the appointees to support the administration’s governance and economic reform agenda.
