Delta Police Recover Stolen Vehicle Carrying Vandalized Items

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have recovered a stolen vehicle transporting vandalized items in Sapele.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the recovery in a statement on Thursday.

According to the statement, the incident occurred on March 30, 2026, around 1:30 p.m., when a concerned citizen reported a Toyota Sienna bus carrying suspected vandalized materials, including iron cuts and a gas cylinder.

A patrol team, supervised by the Divisional Police Officer, was immediately dispatched to the location following the tip-off.

On seeing the police, the suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled into a nearby bush, evading immediate arrest.

The recovered vehicle was towed to the police station, and preliminary investigations have begun.

Authorities are currently working to track down and apprehend the fleeing suspects.

The Delta State Police Command assured the public of continued vigilance and swift action against criminal activities in the area.

SP Edafe urged residents to report suspicious activities promptly to assist law enforcement in maintaining safety and security.
