OAP Mayowa Lambe Demands ₦100m From Estranged Husband

A cease-and-desist notice has been issued to media personality Robert Ekpenyong Ekpo on behalf of his estranged wife, On-Air Personality Mayowa Lambe, demanding a public retraction and ₦100 million in damages over alleged defamatory statements he made on a podcast.

The notice, dated April 22 and signed by K. Umoh Esq., was posted on the X account of Yolanda George-David, founder of Aunt Landa’s Bethel Foundation, which issued the letter through its legal department on Lambe’s behalf.

It directed Ekpo to immediately stop further publication of the claims, remove related content from all platforms, issue a public retraction and apology through the same channels, and pay ₦100 million in damages within three days or face legal action, including claims for aggravated damages and injunctive relief.

The dispute followed Ekpo’s appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast, where he spoke about the breakdown of their marriage, alleging infidelity, deception, and financial strain spanning more than a decade.

Ekpo claimed he discovered online that Lambe had remarried in Texas after 11 years of marriage and alleged she secretly used contraceptives during their relationship while he underwent fertility tests believing he was responsible for their inability to have children.

He also alleged she misrepresented the purpose of a medical trip to Miami and said communication between them had become strained in later years of the marriage. He further claimed she had lived abroad since 2021 and that he financially supported her during that period.

In response, the legal notice stated that the couple’s traditional marriage had been mutually terminated with the knowledge and consent of both families before May 11, 2025, and that no marital relationship existed after that date. It accused Ekpo of spreading false claims about Lambe’s character, finances, and marital status.

The document also said Lambe possessed evidence of her financial contributions to the relationship and records relating to fertility efforts, as well as communications contradicting Ekpo’s public statements.

According to the notice, the alleged statements had caused reputational harm and exposed Lambe to online harassment, adding that failure to comply with the demands within the stipulated time could lead to further legal proceedings.

Ekpo had not publicly responded to the notice as of the time this report was filed, while reactions to the dispute continued to generate debate on social media.
