Man Protests at APC Secretariat, Claims Abandonment After 2023 Campaign Work

A Nigerian man staged a protest at the national secretariat of the All Progressives Congress in Abuja, alleging he was abandoned by the party after making personal sacrifices during the 2023 general election campaigns.

The protester, dressed in an APC-branded shirt, held a placard reading “Reward me or kill me,” as he paced outside the party’s headquarters and voiced his grievances.

In a video that circulated widely on social media, the man claimed he sold his house to support activities linked to the party’s campaign, but received no compensation afterward. He also alleged that his financial situation had deteriorated to the point where he could no longer afford his children’s school fees.

“I sold my house because of the work I worked for APC,” he said in the footage, insisting that his efforts were tied to the party’s 2023 election campaigns.

He further alleged that he had left his children at the secretariat due to his inability to care for them, adding that he did not know their current whereabouts.

The protester also accused the party’s Chief Security Officer of threatening him, although this claim could not be independently verified.

The roughly 30-second video showed him visibly distressed, raising his placard and shouting toward the building while security personnel and bystanders looked on, some recording the scene.

No official of the APC was seen addressing him in the footage, and the party had not issued any statement on the incident as of the time of filing this report.

The video first gained traction on Facebook before spreading to X, where it drew mixed reactions, with many users questioning his expectations of personal reward for political involvement.
